Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to be based out of Akron, OH office . Imagine making a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects, such as environmental justice, remediation, or Brownfields projects. In this role ( Environmental Engineer IV ), you will be responsible for managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement and communication, and financial management of the projects you manage. Ability to report in person to the Akron office twice a week, as it is not a remote position. The successful candidate is required to have a background in environmental engineering and environmental consulting and also be a Professional Engineer in Ohio. A background in remediation is required.
Responsibilities for this position may include the following:
Understand and have experience in site investigation and remediation techniques to drive solutions for our clients.
Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices.
Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager.
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team.
Mentor staff including those aspiring to be technical professionals or project managers.
Supervise the performance of engineers, geologist, and scientists, as well as project administration, projects controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.
Determine and define project scope and objectives. Develop and manage a detailed project schedules and work plans.
Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management.
Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking.
Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager.
Predict resource needs and manage resources effectively.
Provide technical oversight and quality control of work deliverables.
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Monitor project performance to identify areas for improvement.
Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
Support business development efforts.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills.
Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Environmental Engineering or related field and minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Environmental Consulting, Remediation and Project Management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer License
Role is subject to a Background and MVR check
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation and consulting industry.
PMP certification preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal and State clients.
Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
Experience in business development for environmental/remediation projects.
Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal or State environmental projects.
Occasional overnight travel required.
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $96,000.00 - $176,500.00.
