The Transportation Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Traffic Manager for immediate employment in the Albuquerque, NM office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge in traffic engineering from planning to design for simple to complex projects. This position will be a key member of the Transportation Business Unit in the Albuquerque office and is responsible for leading and supporting traffic planning and engineering projects in New Mexico and throughout the country.
To be successful in this role, the applicant will have a thorough understanding and experience in completing traffic related analyses, development of planning studies, and developing design plans in support of the design team to complete projects for the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and municipalities across the state in a timely and efficient manner.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform / manage analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation
Perform traffic and capacity analyses on roadway networks
Developing traffic design plans (MOT, lighting, signals, ITS)
Overseeing / Managing certain aspects of traffic design for roadway projects
Attending client meetings
Managing / leading regional traffic engineering teams in support of projects
Verifying that applicable standards and specifications are being met
Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria and using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications
Supporting business development efforts including leading proposal pursuit efforts
Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent
10+ years of relevant and progressive experience
Licensed as Professional Engineer in New Mexico
Diverse experience in traffic analysis software
Working knowledge and understanding of industry related analyses and development criteria/concepts
Ability to work effectively in team situations and mentor staff
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Design experience with New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) projects
Familiarity with NMDOT’s Standards Specifications for Construction and the development of NMDOT Special Provisions
