AECOM Water Resources Engineer 1 in Arlington, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to be based in Germantown, MD or Arlington, VA.

This position is expected to begin in August 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resources projects.

  • Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop visual aids and reports.

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

  • Exercise judgment in developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

  • Work under supervision of a project manager and/or experienced engineer.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • 0+ years of experience in Water Resources Engineering or related field.

  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses utilizing industry software (e.g., ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).

  • Ability to perform in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
