AECOM Assistant Project Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented and energetic Assistant Project Manager for immediate employment in our Atlanta, GA office who has experience with planning, managing and overseeing construction work for vertical (facilities) projects or programs. This position will be supporting a team acting as an owner’s representative, managing design, construction, costs, schedules, and risks. This position requires the technical skills to effectively lead and manage plans, consultants and budgets for multi-project engagements.

Job Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Generally working under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager/Program Manager or above, or a Regional Manager

  • Manage daily tasks as assigned by Project Manager and Program Manager

  • Ensure client safety standards are being met

  • Tracks schedule milestones

  • Supports Project Team during the design phase through site and facility documentation, managing existing facility documents and reports, facilitate design team access and investigations.

  • Contract Administration – assist in processing contractor pay applications, evaluate and process change orders, analyze and maintain logs/tracking sheets and records, perform observation walks with project managers, observe and record work in place, document stored materials and monitor punch/warranty work

  • Assist in managing, coordinating, and observing contractor work while project is in progress and be able to contribute feedback that might make work safer, cheaper, cleaner, lower impact or any other way improve the operational success of the projects

  • Oversees the construction phase execution and manages construction and inspection oversight

  • Manages the coordination, interface and interactions with internal disciplines and teams within AECOM and with 3rd parties in relation to Technical, Financial, Safety, Quality, and other elements of a project, to ensure successful execution of the scope of services

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + Four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understands construction execution plans, logistics and implementation strategies

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Experience as a General Contractor, Construction Manager and/or Program Manager preferred

  • Proven experience with Educational and/or industrial Projects

  • Overseeing or managing more than one site at a time

  • Multi-project field management experience
