Job Description

AECOM is currently pursuing an experienced and highly motivated Construction Resident Engineer - Dams to join our Water Business Line to support various projects located in the Atlanta, Georgia area. This position will report to the Atlanta, Georgia office and will support a variety engineering and construction projects across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and document overall contract compliance and interpret project drawings and specifications.

  • Evaluate, resolve, and provide solutions to contractors and construction inspectors for constructability issues encountered at construction sites

  • Assists the Project Management team in reviewing project submittals and RFIs

  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate

  • Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed

  • Monitor design changes, contractor and sub-contractor activities and progress

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Civil Engineering plus 4 years of related experience in Geotechnical or Structural engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An EIT, successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

  • Experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering, and related fields

  • Six plus years’ experience with knowledge and experience in performing inspection, design, and/or resident engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures

  • Experience in the evaluation and validation of contractors change order requests against contract documents

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities

  • Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with the project team, external project stakeholders, and leadership.

  • This position does not offer relocation assistance.

  • Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $115,000.00.
