The ideal candidate will display the confidence, and desire to work on a wide variety of interesting heavy civil projects primarily for Transportation, Transit, Aviation and DoD clients and offering a wide variety of project types. We support projects throughout Georgia, nationally across the US, and overseas from early conceptual stage all the way through final bid documents, as well as negotiating change orders and claims. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Interface with project managers and various design disciplines to determine scope and review our work product
Develop quantity take-offs, cost estimates for direct and indirect costs based on provided plans, understand and apply appropriate contractor markups
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering or related field
8+ years of experience including some on site project experience working for contractors
Must be able to communicate well and work with project managers and designers to define scope, discuss constructability issues and estimate construction costs from early project concepts through final design
Must be comfortable providing assistance with evaluating change order costs from contractors
Must be very familiar with MS Excel, and know and be able to learn commercial off the shelf cost estimating and scheduling software
Must be able to apply knowledge and experience of construction methods and procedures to our work process
Certified Cost Professional or Planning and Scheduling Professional (AACEI) or Certified Professional Estimator (ASPE) preferred but not required.
Experience producing cost estimates across a variety of project types
Experience with Sage Estimating, WinEst, and On-Screen Takeoff
Primavera P6 skills strongly preferred
