AECOM Water/WasteWater Project Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated and experienced Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our expanding water engineering practice. The selected candidate will become part of an established water engineering practice working on prominent water and wastewater treatment, sewer collection, potable water distribution and storage, and pumping station projects in the Greater Atlanta Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Designing wastewater pump stations, force mains, and collections systems.

  • Understanding results from hydraulic modeling of water transmission/distribution systems and wastewater collection/transmission systems

  • Designing of water distribution systems

  • Designing of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water treatment facilities

  • Observing construction of utilities in the field

  • Preparing Technical reports and studies

  • Preparing and submitting State and Federal permit applications

  • Preparation of contract documents including technical specifications and construction drawings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience

  • Professional Engineer’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 6+ years’ experience as a consulting engineer in municipal water/wastewater utility engineering

  • Professional Engineer’s License in Georgia or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare written reports and permit applications

  • Good analytical skills to interpret data and modeling results

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and overseen work of less experienced engineers and designers
