AECOM Transportation Planner I in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Transportation Planner for the Austin or Dallas, TX locations. The position will provide a recent college graduate who is interested in transportation with an opportunity to start in the field, while working in a fast-paced professional setting with other planners and engineers to develop transportation plans and studies.

This position is expected to start as early as January 2022.

This position will involve planning and project development activities for transportation projects under the supervision of senior staff.

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new updated plans and programs.

  • Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, roadway network, crash records, and asset inventories.

  • Utilizes Geographic Information System (GIS) to analyze data.

  • Conducts concept-level evaluation of transportation improvement options.

  • Documents and presents findings on transportation planning projects.

  • Research current transportation-related topics at local, state, and federal levels.

  • Research project options and document findings.

  • Assist with other duties as assigned by senior staff and project managers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and quality

  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position including typical office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
