Job Summary

AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager in the field of Water Resources for our office in Austin, TX. This person will assist in the analysis of hydrology and hydraulics associated with flood plain analysis.

AECOM offers a dynamic atmosphere and career growth opportunities for a Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager with strong communication skills interested in water resources work for a variety of local and regional clients. The successful candidate will be given tasks that will build on his or her experience in order to eventually be responsible for the project management of a project from beginning to through construction.

Duties include technical execution of:

  • Management of Field Survey Operations

  • Hydraulic, hydrologic analyses and modeling

  • Conceptual Design of Flood Mitigation Projects

  • Technical reports and studies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering or Equivalent

  • Minimum 6 years experience

  • Modeling Experience in programs including HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS and ArcGIS

  • Experience with Dam Projects

  • Experience in large scale flood modelling

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of professional experience

  • Licensed or Registered as a Professional Engineer and as a certified floodplain manager

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare written reports and permit applications

  • Good analytical skills to interpret data and modeling results

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and oversee work of less experienced engineers
