Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our EHS West Environment team as an Environmental Compliance Manager. This would be a fully seconded position at a federal client’s facility located in the Antelope Valley area. The primary emphasis of the role is to provide on-site support with their environmental regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and be responsible for the following:

  • Staying updated with the latest developments in environmental regulations and monitor changes in environmental legislation that may impact our clients.

  • Supporting the preparation and submission of permit applications, audit reports, compliance reports, and other regulatory documents as required.

  • Develop, implement, review and maintain various Federal and State required environmental programs, systems and procedures

  • Develop and conduct environmental-related employee training and assure the quality of programs for clients.

  • Provide Federal and California regulatory interpretation and technical advice

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and regulators to enhance client retention and growth.

  • Mentoring junior staff and leading project teams for environmental compliance work.

The successful candidate will have :

  • 6 years of multi-media environmental regulatory compliance experience (i.e., conducting multi-media compliance inspections and providing corrective actions; developing environmental compliance plans, SOPs and programs; supporting permitting and associated obligations, etc.).

  • Air quality experience including compliance with CARB regulations (e.g., offroad diesel, LSI, truck and bus, PERP, HARP, ATCM) and local air district rules; and preparation of permits, plans and emission inventories.

  • Experience managing hazardous materials and wastes including CERS, EPCRA, and TSCA compliance

  • Experience managing the storage of petroleum, oils and lubricants including SPCC Plans

  • Demonstrated ability to act independently on technical matters pertaining to environmental regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to mentor junior environmental professionals to execute various compliance projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree,

  • 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in multi-media environmental regulatory compliance.

  • Valid driver's license is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of multi-media environmental regulatory compliance.

  • 5+ years of experience managing and supervising staff

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPEA, CHMM, PE, CEP).

  • Experience with environmental compliance on federal facilities

  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, policies, and standards at the local, state, and federal levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to interpret and synthesize regulatory information accurately.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Additional Information

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $130,000.00.
