AECOM Project Information Specialist in Baltimore, Maryland

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Project Information Specialist for employment in the Baltimore, MD office.

The successful candidate will join our Systems Engineering Group supporting our Project Managers in coordinating the design activities mainly for transit projects.

This position is expected to begin in August 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Project Manager with planning and execution of project activities for Systems Engineering projects and client Work Orders,

  • Coordinates project work with Systems groups such as Architecture, Industrial, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, rails, and Civil,

  • Plays an active role in records management, budget tracking, and scheduling, and prepares meeting minutes, reports, and other documents.

  • Attends site visits and Clients’ meeting.

  • Report to the MTA Manager of Systems and Equipment Engineering and will be responsible for routine task documentation, financial tracking, and other office duties.

  • Assist with the coordination of the location, detection and documentation of MTA Infrastructure and Utilities to ensure that MTA infrastructure is locatable and detectable

  • Provide support to manage the future Utilities Locator contract.

  • Track Miss Utility Requests and coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations and ROW polygons with One Call Concepts (Miss Utility)

  • Act as the lead point of contact, including emergencies, for the MTA OneCall Concept Center

  • Verify & Coordinate with contractors that ticket information is correct

  • Assist with MDOT/MTA Utility Mapping Initiative and work with Real Estate and Procurement to manage the Utilities Locator service contract package. To include invoicing and payments to the contractor.

  • Coordinate the documentation of communications infrastructure location data into MTA GIS mapping database - Gather field reports from utility mapping locators and coordinate with GIS mapping manager for the creation of the MTA Utilities & Infrastructure GIS database

  • Coordinate with Utility Companies, Facilities and MDOT, SHA and TSO with the ArcGIS utility locator app for preparing the GIS database for MTA’s utility locations (To centralize your MTA facilities).

  • Assist MTA’s Engineering & Operations with the Maryland Title XII requirements to prevent damages to underground facilities. protect appurtenances when tickets are in the MTA rights-of-way and parcels.

  • Require newly installed underground facilities to be detectable & locatable

  • Detectable and locatable facilities to be restored to a certain status

  • Coordinate with the Engineer for the review and disposition of design records, coordinate with MTA Document Control for As-Built/Constructed plan sets for past projects and coordinate new projects requirements with the MTA Project Manager

  • Assist/Coordinate the marking of MTA facilities (MARC, Fredrick Line, Metro, Light Rail and Bus).

  • Assist with invoicing Miss U tickets and coordinate with Finance for processing

  • Review OneCall Concept tickets and coordinate with utility locator to mark affected locations and update ticket status in iSite, OneCall Concept ticket management database system

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalence of experience and/or education.

  • Due to the nature of this job, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Transit projects
