Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Quality Manager to work within AECOM’s Transportation Group and based in the Mid-Atlantic region, supporting both New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions. This role will report to the regional Senior Quality Manager to support the region’s various major Transportation projects and programs.

The Project Quality Manager will work as part of a Quality Management Team that will distribute project tasks by quality functions to cover a portfolio of projects across the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Project Quality Manager will be responsible for managing, documenting, implementing, monitoring and improving the Quality Functions for multiple programs and projects. They will primarily support Maryland area projects within the Mid-Atlantic region working both on-project sites and at regional offices. Reporting to the New England Transportation Group Senior Quality Manager but will perform the functions of a Quality Manger for projects in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. This position is anticipated to be a hybrid position, which will require travel to regional offices and project offices or sites. Projects may likely include design, planning, CMAR, PMCM, design-bid-build and design-build delivery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing, assessing, and evaluating design and PMCM quality control activities, reviews and reports on the status and effectiveness of the quality requirements of the design.

  • Ensuring that AECOM quality management systems are being followed and evidence is recorded and maintained.

  • Tracking, monitoring and reporting on the status of the project development, and outstanding review comments for managing quality deliverables.

  • Providing guidance to project team members within the latitude of established policies.

  • Recommending changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.

  • Working with project teams to update specifications as required to match the scope of Quality functions.

  • Oversight of Subconsultant Quality Plans and Activities.

  • Oversight of 3rd Party Testing results.

  • Work with Special Testing and Inspection consultants and Testing Laboratories to achieve desired quality results.

  • Ensure successful quality control and assurance aspects of the project deliverables.

  • Development of Quality plans, procedures and guides to improve our delivery.

  • Perform Quality Audits and Surveillances

  • Report on Quality results, metrics, and actions.

  • Other Responsibilities include:

  • Meet with clients on Quality.

  • Meeting with subcontractors and subconsultant Quality managers.

  • Educate project team staff and mentor.

  • Acting as advisor to project teams to meet schedules and/or resolve quality problems.

  • Participate in design-build projects within the U.S. efforts and deliveries.

  • Develop Project specific training / just in time training materials and present to project teams and subconsultants.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Quality or related field plus four years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Experience in performing Quality management in the Transportation field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industry Certification in ASQ CQA Quality Auditor and ASQ CMQ Manager of Quality

  • Experience working with Transportation and Transit Agencies.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in the design and construction of rail transit projects with a construction value of at least $100 million preferred

  • Understanding of Quality and Assurance within the Transportation Field

  • Understanding of the FTA QMS Guidelines for Quality Management System 2019

  • Excellent communication and team support skills.

  • Excellent computer skills to include Bluebeam

  • Excellent client management and relationship skills.

  • Ability to work with remote teams to ensure quality assurance and compliance.

  • Relevant experience in procurement management

  • Relevant Field Experience preferred.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $72,330.00 - $125,000.00.
