AECOM is seeking a Project Manager (Applicant Relations & Outreach) to be based in any of the following locations: Baton Rouge, LA; Houston, TX; or Denver, CO.

About DCSA—Water

With more than 3,200 Water professionals in all major markets throughout the United States and Canada, AECOM’s Water business line leverages nearly a century of local, national and international project experience to provide today’s municipalities, industries and governments with cost-effective solutions to their Water challenges. We deliver our services—from environmental planning studies to detailed design, construction management, and operations and maintenance—to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Our public sector work encompasses everything from small rural communities, to large urban centers, to agencies with regional responsibilities. Our private sector work includes assignments for multiple commercial/industrial sectors, including oil and gas, chemicals, power, food and beverage, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.

The Project Manager will assist in the implementation of Disaster Recovery Projects. Duties will include oversight of team leads and distribution of resources within a functional area. The Project Manager should maintain a complete understanding of all applicable federal policies and requirements. The Project Manager will act as a Community and Governmental Affairs liaison for the project.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage project efforts, requiring complex coordination across multiple systems and processes.

  • Oversee the implementation and operations of the project, which may include oversight and distribution of resources within a specific functional area.

  • Utilize time management skills to create high-level strategies that aid staff in managing time, productivity, and effectiveness.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in regards to decisions effecting assigned functional area.

  • Train, supervise and evaluate case management staff.

  • Coordinate the scheduling and case load assignments of Case Managers and Call Center Staff;

  • Conduct daily/weekly meetings with staff.

  • Conduct or arrange for appropriate orientations, in-services, and training for program staff;

  • Mediate applicant grievances and facilitate case management/client issues;

  • Assist clients in obtaining necessary resources to achieve case management goals;

  • Attend and lead program-related community, coalition and committee meetings;

  • Analyze program data and plan for program improvements;

  • Review/Audit of client files to ensure case management plans address identified needs, are up-to-date and that data quality is maintained;

  • Liaise with and identifies community influencers, faith-based leaders, and other key partners.

  • Articulate needs and concerns to and from community members to appropriate parties.

  • Promptly responds to communication from both internal / external stakeholders

  • Represent project staff and the client to external stakeholders.

  • Conduct meetings and presentations to external stakeholder and other groups to inform them of the project.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience working on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Federal Emergency Management Assistance (FEMA), or Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) programs;

Preferred Qualifications

  • ​3+ years of management experience in social service setting with working knowledge of case management strategies and planning techniques;

  • Experience in stakeholder/community engagement;

  • A working knowledge of regulatory and statutory compliance of federally funded disaster recovery programs;

  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders of the organization to share information, make decisions, and/or implement effective solutions to problems or complaints;

  • Ability to use a range of outreach methods to engage individuals and groups in diverse settings;

  • Ability to provide clear and concise communication to team members and senior management;

  • Strong and confident leadership.
