AECOM Senior Water Resources Engineer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Water Resources Engineer for our Jackson, Mississippi, New Orleans, LA or Baton Rouge, LA office. This Senior Engineer will support our Water Resources practice, primarily in the Mississippi/Louisiana/Texas market area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling using various software program

  • Analysis and design of stormwater drainage system, bridge and culvert design, dams & levees, flood plains, etc.

  • Write technical report and technical memorandum

  • Field work for site reconnaissance

  • Provide assistance with Project Management

  • Mentoring and training junior level staff

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Face to face interaction with clients

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree is preferred

  • Professional Engineer in Mississippi/ Louisiana/Texas (or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months of hire)

  • 8+ years of relevant water resource related experience

  • 8+ years experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concept and principles;

  • 8+ years experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SRH2D)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS and CADD

  • Strong analytical and computation skill

  • Knowledge of civil engineering design principles

  • Software AutoCAD, Civil3D, Geopak Drainage, GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MicroStation, SMS SRH2D, ADCIRC

Additional Information:

  • ​​​​​​​Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $90,000-$150,000/annually (exempt).
