Job Description

AECOM is growing with major project work throughout Louisiana and the Western U.S. AECOM's Louisiana Transportation Engineering Team is looking to enhance its staff with a Transportation Planning Specialist IV with responsibilities inclusive of the following::

  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning methods and products.

  • Usually performs as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.

  • Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.

  • Oversees specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.

  • Provides overall management of engagement related to planning tasks.

  • Partners with other business lines to assist with siting and environmental studies.

  • Leads environmental studies, such as impacts to neighborhoods and environmental resources; develops permit and NEPA documentation.

  • Advises various councils, boards, commissions and elected officials in planning related issues.

  • Produces high-quality reports, maps, figures and presentations.

  • Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.

  • Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree + six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.

  • Ability to pass MVR record check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning highly preferred.

  • 10 years of experience in planning and NEPA related work and related writing proficiency.

  • AICP certification.

  • Proven experience in NEPA related task deliveries.

  • Proven proficiency in GIS project software and related project deliveries.

  • Offered rate of compensation in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA. will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $75,000. - $125,000.
