AECOM Field Superintendent - Bay Area in BAY AREA, California

Job Summary

Shimmick Construction, an AECOM Company is seeking a Field Superintendent to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Responsible for the organization, direction, and coordination of construction crews and activities on a construction project site.


  • Accountable and overall responsibility for on-site administrative and technical management of field crews.

  • Leads, directs and manages the entire direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.

  • Primary Liaison with client for day to day activities and long term operations.

  • Accountable for compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.

  • Reports to project manager and coordinates with other disciplines, including superintendents, engineers and administrative staff.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • HS/GED + 10 years of relevant experience or AA/AS (US) + 8 years of relevant experience or BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects

  • Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater

  • Current OSHA 10

  • Knowledge of Acubid, Hard Dollar and excellent Excel skills

  • Ability to discern new markets and develop business in those areas

  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency

  • Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills

  • Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively
