AECOM Project Manager- Environmental Impact Assessments in Bogota, Colombia
Job Summary
AECOM Colombia seeks an experienced Environmental Project Manager to support existing project and to contribute to the growth of our environmental services growing portfolio of projects in various industrial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations in Colombia,
Manage and deliver environmental inputs to large scale infrastructure projects - including road, power -energy, water and Oil&Gas. Providing environmental inputs across all project lifecycles; from early strategy development, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of consents, construction and scheme operation/ maintenance.
Leading managing and coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs across a range of projects, with a focus on the management of EIAs in support of gaining development consent. Includes managing the preparation of EIA screening and scoping reports and Environmental Statements, including the technical review of specialist chapters. Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
Supporting and leading the identification of new business opportunities and associated fee and technical proposal development, which will include promoting AECOM’s E&S services to both internal and external audiences.
Occasional travel required.
Excellent verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing – all with an attention to detail.
Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and national regulations to ensure compliance
Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Interest in business development
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Environmental Engineering, or related field with + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Project Management training or Project Management Professional credential
Master’s degree in Environmental, Sustainability, or related degree
Due to the nature of the work Colombia Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
University degree in Environmental engineering, science or related discipline with a Professional License
Bilingüe (Spanish and English)
6+ years’ experience in Project management in environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental management Plans, ICAs. An excellent understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment processes (including screening and scoping), environmental assessment methods and applicable planning legislation and knowledge in permitting process with local environmental authorities.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
