Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior GHG & Decarbonization Leader to be located in any of our offices in LATAM REGION (Colombia, Mexico or Panama).

The candidate must be highly motivated and accountable, work remotely with other team members, and be an effective communicator. To possess strong technical writing and verbal communication skills. General responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Make recommendations on work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems within this business-line and discipline.

  • Make recommendations on research requests, objectives, priorities, and timing.

  • Assess need for change and recommends development of standards.

  • Assess work against standards, objectives, and specifications.

  • Utilize advanced scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies when working on unusually complex technical problems.

  • Interpret and record data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Develop solutions which are highly innovative. Acts as advisor to management and clients.

  • Oversee the work of less experienced scientists.

  • Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.

  • Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.

  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.

  • Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

  • Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BA/BS + Intermediate to senior level experience (8+ years) experience in providing technical support on emissions inventories and emissions reductions

  • Direct experience in supporting emissions management (inventory and reductions) within a variety of sectors including manufacturing or oil and gas (upstream and midstream) or energy/utilities

  • Ability to lead projects and small technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Intermediate to senior level experience, 8+ years’ experience in providing technical support on emissions inventories and emissions reductions

  • Direct experience with GHG accounting standards (such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064) and experience in developing GHG inventories.

  • Experience conducting value chain GHG assessments (screening level and detailed quantification).

  • Energy efficiency / GHG management; including a deep technical understanding of decarbonization mechanisms and technologies.

  • Knowledge of target setting approaches, including science-based targets.

  • An understanding of low carbon technologies, renewable energy, and new emerging technologies.

  • Experience working on GHG emission reduction initiatives, defining decarbonization strategies (corporate-wide and field-level) which includes the associated cost/benefit analysis.

  • Independent research and analytical skills - able to identify, review and synthesize key findings in scientific and engineering literature, reports – with a keen interest of staying on top of new standards, certifications, and technologies.

  • Ability to write concise, clear, and effective narratives in reporting, in presentations, and contributions to proposals.

  • Direct experience in a consulting environment, including client-relationship management.
