AECOM Remediation Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly-motivated Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineer for employment in our Boston or Chelmsford, MA offices as part of our Remediation engineering department. AECOM is searching for candidates with strong technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively both independently and collaboratively. This position will involve working with engineers and other scientists on a variety of remediation projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide engineering and design support for remediation projects, and other projects

  • Conduct field exploration, collect samples, analyze data and review samples for laboratory testing

  • Prepare or review engineering related calculations and develop drawings and figures

  • Perform analyses and design, prepare engineering reports, plans and specifications

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member

  • Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Some travel will be required to visit job sites and perform investigations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of remedial design experience as well as experience conducting field investigations

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills

  • Proficiency working with Excel and Word

  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of civil & geotechnical engineers, and geologists

  • Experience managing remediation design projects from initial design to construction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the following programs: AutoCAD/Auto Civil3D, gINT, SlopeW, SeepW, Slide, Settle3D

  • Experience writing engineering proposals

  • Experience managing engineering projects

  • Experience with construction oversight
