AECOM Senior Electrical Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts
AECOM is actively seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to support its Chelmsford, MA Water Design Center.
AECOM’s Design Center located in Chelmsford, MA is nationally recognized as the center of excellence that focuses on the design of large, complex, multi-discipline, high-profile water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities for both traditional and design-build projects throughout the U.S. The Design Center is comprised of approximately 70 staff and includes a full complement of disciplines including:
Building Mechanical (i.e., HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection)
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
The layout and design of these water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations include:
Pumps, piping, valves, etc.
Headworks, screening, grit removal systems
Aeration, filtration, separation, dewatering and clarification systems
Odor control systems
Chemical feed systems
Sludge and residual handling systems

Wallingford, CT WWTF Upgrade ($10M)
Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services.
Perform electrical system designs including
Motor control centers,
Variable frequency drives,
Distribution panels, and
Other electrical distribution systems components.
Perform design for lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security and grounding systems.
Prepare design drawings including single line diagrams, electrical plans, wiring schematics, schedules, etc.
Perform electrical system calculations using power analytical software packages (Ex. SKM, EDSA, and Easy Power).
Perform electrical system studies and calculations (load, harmonics, voltage drop, lighting, short circuit, coordination and arc flash).
Review and coordinate instrumentation, control system process P&IDs, mechanical and HVAC systems and design its related electrical systems.
Develop electrical equipment specifications.
Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Four (4) years of work experience as an Electrical Engineer
Proficient with AutoCAD
Experience designing low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services
Experience designing lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security and grounding systems
