Job Summary

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an

Industrial Hygiene Specialist to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.

The successful candidate will support comprehensive Industrial Hygiene (IH) services including but not limited to:

  • Conduct periodic IH surveys which include identification, measurement, and assessment of workplace environmental stressors

  • Recommend effective control measures to eliminate hazardous exposures.

  • Monitor potentially health-hazardous stressors to verify that control measures are effective.

  • Provide IH- related support in matters of environmental health and pollution control.

  • Assist with the evaluation of existing engineering controls and personal protective equipment.

  • Perform, under direction, prioritized IH sampling of chemical or physical hazards.

  • Calibrate equipment for use in the field.

  • Conduct noise monitoring.

  • Manage sampling and monitoring data.

  • Conduct IAQ investigations.

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or

  • Associates degree in a scientific or technical discipline with four (4) years related experience, or

  • HS diploma or GED with eight (8) years of relevant experience, including work performing monitoring/sampling or use of similar instruments.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk or stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and ladders, work in an underground mining environment and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including respiratory protection.

  • Due to the nature of work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in industrial hygiene (IH) or environmental health and safety is preferred.
