AECOM Stormwater Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Stormwater Engineer for immediate employment in the Charlotte, North Carolina office to support various Stormwater Projects for municipal, State, Federal and other clients.
Candidate will perform a variety of office and field tasks, including but not limited to site investigations/measurements, design of stormwater control measures, stormwater conveyance design, environmental permitting, civil/stormwater & grading construction drawings. This may also include site investigations/ measurements and existing utility investigations. The candidate will work on projects from the planning and detailed design phase and through permitting and construction phase. The candidate will provide services with AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce drawings.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize basic engineering principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data and apply technical and engineering principles and theories
Software use includes AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Hydraflow, HydroCAD, and/or other stormwater design related software
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Perform site visits and field observations if necessary
Work under supervision of a project manager in the Stormwater Practice or senior level team members
Able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds
Able to travel on business periodically for periods of up to two weeks

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related discipline, with 2 years of related experience
At least 2 years of progressive experience with Environmental or Civil Engineering work within the Stormwater Practice – including stormwater conveyance, BMP design and permitting
Demonstrated experience in stormwater analysis
Demonstrated experience in erosion and sedimentation control design and permitting
Proficient in generating stormwater construction drawings in AutoCAD Civil3D
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Highly prefer 3 years or more of progressive experience with Environmental or Civil Engineering work within the Stormwater Practice – including stormwater conveyance, BMP design and permitting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, regulatory agency representatives and members of the public where required to represent the company
Works collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary
Experience with HydroCAD and other stormwater related software
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Maps, and other common business software and web-based applications
