Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineering to be based in Chelmsford, MA .

This position is expected to begin immediately.

This Entry-Level Electrical Engineer position will work under the supervision of a senior electrical engineer to perform the following functions. The work would involve a variety of new and upgrades to existing water treatment facilities, water booster pump stations, and wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical power distribution systems for heavy industrial water/wastewater applications, as well as, traditional building services.

  • Perform electrical system designs including:

  • Switchgear

  • Switchboards

  • Motor control centers

  • Variable frequency drives

  • Generators

  • Transformers

  • Distribution panels, and

  • Other electrical power distribution system components

  • Perform design for lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security, and grounding systems.

  • Prepare design drawings including single-line diagrams, electrical plans, wiring schematics, schedules, etc.

  • Perform electrical system calculations using power analytical software packages (Ex. SKM, EDSA, and Easy Power).

  • Perform electrical system studies and calculations (load, harmonics, voltage drop, lighting, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash).

  • Review and coordinate instrumentation, control system process P&IDs, mechanical and HVAC systems and design its related electrical systems.

  • Support the development of electrical equipment specifications.

  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.

  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience.

  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry.

  • Experience with AutoCAD.

  • Experience with Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, etc.

  • Ability to work with a diverse team located in the Chelmsford Design Center.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture.

  • Experienced, self-directed professional.

  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.

  • Ability to meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with the ability to adapt to project deadlines.

  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Chelmsford, MA . The selected candidate must be available to work in Chelmsford, MA on a scheduled basis.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $62,000.00 - $72,000.00.
