Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Technician for employment in the Chelmsford MA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. Due to nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

The successful candidate will support investigation and remediation-related environmental consulting services. Tasks would include but may not be limited to: spill response, remediation activities including soil and groundwater treatment system operations, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM), soil and groundwater sampling, indoor air and sub-slab air sampling, drilling oversight, slug testing, and simple data collection, observations, measurements, and drawings, among many other activities. The ideal candidate will work productively in a collaborative team-environment, follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and demonstrate growth potential, along with the desire to learn.

  • Performs routine fieldwork as a trainee (such as environmental sampling, assisting with calculations, and operations, maintenance and inspection of equipment of client site), working under close supervision.

  • Performs routine tasks in support of project staff and handles less complex duties.

  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

  • Degree preferred.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Ability to accurately document work activities (i.e., detailed field notes).

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Able to lift and carry equipment ranging up to 50 pounds.

  • Schedule flexibility - Willingness to work over 95% in the field; often requiring heavy travel.

  • Must be capable of obtaining 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in similar role.
