Job Description

AECOM has a career opportunity for a Natural Resource Scientistto join one of the largest and deeply skilled Environmental Planning and Permitting Groups in the Northeast.

This position will support projects involving renewable energy (solar, offshore wind and battery storage) siting and permitting, natural resource inventory/habitat assessment and technical reporting and power sector (electric transmission) siting and permitting. Additional work would include supporting coastal/marine studies, fisheries assessments, road and bridge permitting, and supporting a wide variety of projects in the state and local markets and Federal Projects.

Responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Support projects involving renewable energy (solar, offshore wind and battery storage) siting and permitting, natural resource inventory/habitat assessment and technical reporting and power sector (electric transmission) siting and permitting

  • May also include supporting coastal/marine studies, fisheries assessments, road and bridge permitting, and supporting a wide variety of projects in the state and local markets and Federal Projects

  • Attending Client and Project team meetings in an office setting as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Recent, relevant experience should include two or more of the following:

  • supporting projects involving renewable energy (solar, offshore wind and/or battery storage) siting and permitting, natural resource inventory/habitat assessment and technical reporting

  • power sector (electric transmission)

  • Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources or related field is desired

  • Siting and permitting. projects in an ecologist/environmental permitting specialist role are preferred

Additional Information

  • This position can be remote within the New England area and will include time in the office - as needed - for meetings with clients and/or project teams

  • Sponsorship is not available for this role

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $69,000.00 - $120,000.00.
