Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Water Resources/Civil Engineer for our Chelmsford, MA office. This Senior Engineer will support our Water Resources and Civil Engineering and support projects primarily in the Northeast. We are looking for an engineer with strong civil and stormwater skills to work with our multidiscipline teams to develop strategies and solutions on challenging stormwater assignments related to civil design, dams, highways, wastewater projects and water supply, and in support of MS4 programs.

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling using various software program

  • Analysis and design of stormwater drainage system, bridge and culvert design, dams & levees, flood plains, etc.

  • Write technical report and technical memorandum

  • Field work for site reconnaissance

  • Provide assistance with Project Management

  • Mentoring and training junior level staff

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Prepare civil design and grading for flood control, drainage, bridge, and stormwater management projects.

  • Coordinating with technical disciplines including geotechnical, structural, civil, and environmental among others

  • Face to face interaction with clients

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Professional Engineer

  • Demonstrated experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concept and principles.

  • Proven experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models (SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SRH2D

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional Engineer in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months of hire)

  • 8+ years of relevant water resource related experience

  • 8+ years’ experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concept and principles.

  • 8+ years’ experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models (SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SRH2D

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD/ Civil 3D

  • Strong analytical and computation skill

  • Knowledge of civil engineering design principles

  • Ability to work with a team consisting of several technical disciplines
