Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Project Manager for our New England Region. This is a hybrid office/remote role which can be based out of any of our offices in the area: Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; Manchester, NH; Rocky Hill, CT or Providence, RI.

Our Senior Traffic Project Manager is a newly created role to handle our growing business in New England and will also support other areas in the East Region. In this role, you will support the New England Traffic Discipline Manager in managing traffic projects and client relations.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Manage Traffic projects – prepare and negotiate scopes and fees; manage tasks, staffing, schedule, changes, issues, quality, budget, and project financials.

  • Lead project meetings; act as client point of contact.

  • Lead business development efforts – get involved in professional organizations, meet new potential clients, and lead proposal development.

  • Oversee Traffic Engineering studies that include traffic generation, simulation/modeling, analyzing crash data sets, and traffic impact analyses.

  • Oversee development of Traffic Engineering plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) including signs, pavement markings, traffic signals, roundabouts, and traffic management plans/temporary traffic control.

  • Oversee construction services for Traffic Engineering projects - review submittals, respond to requests for information, offer field advice, etc.

  • Support design-bid-build and design-build projects.

  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or relevant degree with a focus on transportation and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.

  • 2+ years of project management experience

  • Current PE License

  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing projects

  • Master's degree is beneficial

  • Certification in project management (i.e. - PMP or similar)

  • Strong client relationship building skills

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Experience with and knowledge of New England DOT procedures and practices

  • Adaptive Signal Control, Transit Signal Priority, and other traffic signal technology experience is preferred

  • Experience with data platforms such as RITIS or Streetlight Data is preferred

  • PTOE preferred
