Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer Intern/Co-op to be based in Chelmsford, MA.

This position is expected to begin in January 2022.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

  • Assist with report writing and setup

  • Development of plans and details utilizing CAD

  • Assist with engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer

  • Development engineering calculations utilizing examples and guidance of senior engineers

  • Support senior and junior engineers with office-related tasks.

  • Support research and analysis with emerging technologies such as connected vehicles, automated vehicles, adaptive signal control technology, and communications networks.

  • Intern 2 – completion of second year of qualified study

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Experience with Microsoft 360 Software (Word, Excel, Outlook,Teams)

  • Must have completed 1 year of study

  • Valid US Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Experience with modeling software such as VISSIM and/or Synchro

Additional Information :

  • This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.

  • Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offer for this position.
