AECOM ’s Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Project Manager for immediate employment to be based out of our Chelmsford, MA offices.
The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in managing municipal infrastructure projects specializing in wastewater collection, conveyance and treatment; water distribution and treatment; storm water conveyance; green infrastructure design and climate resiliency related work. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities. Much of the work will be conducted in New England but opportunities are expected to extend Nationally as well as Internationally through Federal programs.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Lead complex design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases, including alternative delivery projects.
Experience developing mid-level staff and leading multi-discipline project design teams.
Managing a portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
Has decision-making authority and directs others in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
Manages more complex clients and projects.
Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
Four (4) years’ experience in municipal Water/Wastewater/Water Resources design
At least one (1) year demonstrated experience in leading complex municipal water/wastewater conveyance and pumping system design, assessment and rehabilitation projects
Registered Professional Engineer licensed in New England
Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
8+ years’ experience in municipal infrastructure market
Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, regulatory agency representatives and members of the public when required to represent the company
Must have a sound foundation in the planning, permitting, and design of water and wastewater conveyance projects and/or stormwater projects
Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers and project managers for the preparation of high quality work products
Must have strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
Must have proven excellent leadership skills, and demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams
