Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Scope 3 Emissions Data Management & Analytics Lead . Reporting to the Business Analytics Director in the Corporate Net Zero team, this role will significantly contribute to the implementation of AECOM’s Sustainable Legacies / ESGStrategy with responsibility for Scope 3 emissions data management and analysis. The candidate will focus on supply chain emissions and business travel emissions data to enable the reduction of AECOM’s Scope 3 emissions by 50% by 2030, and all emissions by 90% by 2040, to ultimately achieve science-based net zero by 2040. This is a significant opportunity for an ambitious candidate to drive operational change, reduce carbon and be a key person progressing one of AECOM’s top strategic priorities.
This position will offer flexibility for remote/virtual work schedules and can be based from a variety of locations in the US and UK.
Job Responsibilities
As a key member of the CEWG you will:
Managing Scope 3 data collection and data quality policies and processes.
Identification and integration of new data sources to improve the accuracy and completeness of AECOM’s Scope 3 emissions data.
Developing and maintaining systems and processes for data collection, verification, and reporting.
Supporting AECOM's sustainability and climate change strategy by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership. This includes analysing and interpreting data to identify opportunities for emissions reductions.
Communicating and reporting data to internal and external stakeholders, including management, auditors, and investors. This includes managing AECOM’s annual Scope 3 emissions calculation and verification program.
Staying up-to-date with relevant regulations and guidelines for reporting GHG emissions and ensuring the organization is in compliance with these standards.
Support the annual planning process including greenhouse gas reduction initiative cost benefit analysis and offsetting forecasting.
Training team members and stakeholders within the business who are responsible for data collection and analysis.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject plus at least 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Very strong quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
Strong organizational skills - ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or another quantitative field
Experience within a public company of similar structure and complexity to AECOM
Working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tool
Experience with Cognos, TM1, Oracle, eProcurement systems and Hyperion
Working knowledge of SQL
Experience and coding knowledge of R or Python
Prior experience of GHG emissions reporting
Working knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (https://ghgprotocol.org/)
Ability to establish strong working relationships. Effective at building appropriate rapport
Solid business acumen and ability to convey complex concepts
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and work successfully both independently and in a team
