Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Senior Analyst, Real

Estate Advisory to be based in Chicago, IL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Making decisions about market demand, feasibility, and financial

  • requirements as well as social impact, economic development, and public benefits.

  • Create preliminary plan or concept for regional and place-based economic development, urban revitalization, real estate, tourism, and culture.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines, to develop strategies that respond to the market, attract financing, and enable implementation. We address challenges through clear communication, creative thinking, and structured, impartial analysis.

  • Understand how multiple factors influence value and feasibility.

  • Review project design, public policies and regulations, site conditions, mitigation requirements, development and financing costs, phasing, and implementation challenges.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to lead discrete technical tasks, including developing and implementing quantitative analytical approaches; conducting data analysis, economic and financial modeling, literature reviews, and interviews; developing graphics and presentations to communicate key findings; and writing sections of client deliverables and proposals.

  • Work closely with managers to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Analyzing Census Bureau data. ·

  • Researching and analyzing existing land use patterns, zoning regulations, and development trends to understand the current state of the community.

  • Facilitating community engagement processes to gather input from residents, businesses, and stakeholders.

  • Holding public meetings, workshops, and hearings to ensure that community perspectives are considered in the planning process.

  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, community organizations, and elected officials, to ensure coordination and support for land use plans.

  • Creating comprehensive land use plans that take into account factors such as population growth, environmental considerations, transportation needs, and community development goals.

  • Assessing and recommending changes to zoning ordinances and regulations to

  • align with the goals of the land use plan.

  • Implementing and enforcing zoning codes to regulate land development.

  • Reviewing and evaluating development proposals and site plans to ensure compliance with zoning regulations and land use plans.

  • Providing recommendations to decision-making bodies, such as planning commissions or city councils.

  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Urban and Regional Planning, Real Estate, Business or related field followed by 4 years of experience in job offered or in a Real Estate Advisory-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

  1. Developing cashflow models from scratch in Excel reflecting capital asset investments and

  2. returns including public-private partnership, and equity waterfalls.

  3. Navigating and thriving in a multi-disciplinary work environment

  4. ArcGIS and other including MS Word, Excel, and presentations as tools to support;

  5. Utilizing economic and real estate data sources including CoStar, municipal open data

  6. portals, ESRI Business Analyst, and On The Map

  7. Collecting and organizing economic and demographic data from the Census Bureau,

  8. collecting employment-related data from EMSI, subsidized housing data from HUD and NHPD, transportation data from DOT, federal funding sources from grants.gov, and other data from state/county/city official websites; and

  9. Developing presentations and reports that convey complex analytical efforts succinctly.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $72,329.65 - $133,809.85.
