AECOM is seeking a Senior Transit/Rail Engineer to be based in Chicago, Illinois.

Job Responsibilities:
The Sr. Transit/Rail Engineer in the Chicago Office is a key position and will report into the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Department
The position includes responsibility for business development, management of transportation planning studies, preliminary design studies and final design of transit and freight rail improvement projects
Clients include CTA, Metra, CDOT, IDOT as well as counties, municipalities, regional planning agencies, ports, and Class I railroads
The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM team and/or discipline lead, project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others in the AECOM US West Region
Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
Approves and signs off on work
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts
Presents complex technical solutions to clients
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
Participates in development of technical proposals
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor' degree in Engineering or Construction Management 10+ years of relevant experience
