Job Description
Job Overview
The Technical Practice Network Enterprise Community Manager (TPN ECM) coordinates major initiatives within the TPN, promoting collaboration among AECOM’s 42,000 technical staff located in the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and New Zealand that results in technical excellence in project delivery and success in project pursuits while fostering engagement of technical staff. The TPN ECM reports to the TPN Global Director.
Job Responsibilities
Engagement & People
Monitoring community activity and listen to and understand the needs of technical employees
Ongoing moderation, response, and escalation of community activity
Promote and highlight member, leader, and group best practices
Facilitate connections among members
Facilitate the member welcoming experience
Promote technical content and initiatives that are relevant to technical employees, working with Communications partners where appropriate
Oversee the work of and advise support staff serving in TPN community manager roles
Embrace and promote diversity within our technical leadership ranks
Content Development
Lead/co-lead workstreams for Technical Practice Network initiatives that stand-up new technical processes or knowledge resources that support our employees and world-class projects
Work with AECOM’s technical leaders to prepare, compile, and/or curate:
Standards, specifications, and best practices for their technical practice areas
Reference materials and technical tools
Training materials and training curricula for technical employees
Recommended software packages for technical specialty areas
Produce and/or deliver training to technical staff on how to use collaborative technologies and resources available through the TPN and AECOM University
Work with AECOM’s Quality leaders to facilitate and maintain technical quality programs (e.g. Lead Verifier program, Technical Standards & Specifications Repository, Technical Lessons Learned Repository)
Work with appropriate teams in HR and IT to maintain resources that allow staff to find appropriate technical staff with particular skill sets, licensure, or other qualifications for pursuits and/or project delivery
Strategic & Business
Participate in Technical Excellence global leadership meetings as needed
Work with TPN Metrics & Reporting Specialist(s) to measure and report TPN performance and analytics
Produce reports for AECOM’s senior leaders quantifying the value of the TPN Technical
Select and acquire tools that support TPN goals
Oversee TPN tool/platform portfolio to ensure effectiveness and integration with other AECOM tools and platforms wherever possible
Work with internal and external teams as needed to develop TPN tools and platforms
Work with IT to maintain TPN platforms, troubleshoot problems, and develop new functionality.
The TPN ECM is charged with coordinating activities across our global footprint, which will require participation in meetings outside of standard working hours in the US and Canada. It is expected that meetings to accommodate global teams will be two hours or less per week. Scheduling of these meetings will be flexible to accommodate personal responsibilities and preferences. Occasional business travel (1 to 3 trips per year) within the US and Canada will also be required to participate in TPN team meetings and/or meetings to progress TPN initiatives.
Qualifications
- BA/BS plus 6 years of relevant or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
