AECOM Bridge Engineer in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Summary

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in bridge design using AASHTO and ODOT (or other State DOT) bridge design policies, procedures, and requirements; including LRFD design experience

  • Proficiency in steel and concrete bridge design, and the ability to learn and develop technical skills for unique and advanced design requirements on projects

  • Experience modeling vendor Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to design and analyze complex bridges

  • Working knowledge of current bridge design software

  • Eligibility for prequalification with ODOT for Bridge Design Levels 1 and 2

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Bridge Inspection experience

  • MicroStation experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment background check and a drug test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Occasional travel for up to a week at a time may be necessary with this position

  • 10+ years' experience preferred
