Job Description

AECOM Water is seeking a highly talented Field Technician for immediate employment in the Cleveland, Ohio office . Major responsibilities include participating on field crews that conduct field investigations of sewer systems. This includes flow monitoring, dye testing, smoke testing, closed circuit television inspection, manhole inspection and other related activities. Candidate must be able to enter confined spaces and able to work in outside conditions such as wet and cold weather.

Candidate will be required to enter data collected during investigations electronically into field laptop computers. Field work and subsequent data supports other engineering projects and provides information for engineering design. Overnight travel may be required. Must be able to drive company field vehicle and have good communication and organizational skills with safety awareness. Objectives are to provide engineering data to internal and external clients based on field investigation results and findings. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts field investigations in sewer collection systems

  • Installs flow meters into sewer pipes

  • Conducts sewer smoke and dye testing

  • Collect field data during field investigations

  • Participate in report or technical memorandum writing

  • Participate in both field and office environments

  • Communicate with clients and other engineers

  • Working in and around sewer systems

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flow monitoring installation experience

  • Confined space trained and certified

  • Ability to read and interpret maps and blueprints

  • Knowledge of sewer system field experience

  • Knowledge of flow monitoring programs and of CCTV programs

  • Understand sewer system operation

  • Willing to enter manholes and sewers

  • Ability to lift up to 20lb objects

  • Ability to work in hazardous conditions (manholes, sewers, traffic)

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Ability to work in and around sewer systems

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $22.00/hour - $30.00/hour.
