Job Summary/Responsibilities
Supervise and support the preparation of landscape architectural drawings for all phases on projects of various sizes
Work in collaboration with other designers on project types that include urban streetscapes, civic plazas, park design, campus planning and design, and community and connectivity planning
Manage preparation of documents and graphics for all phases of landscape architectural design, inclusive of site analysis, master planning, planning reports, schematic design, design development and construction documents
Manage the Landscape architecture team for complex public sector and private sector design projects
Work in a collaborative, multi-discipline, integrated environment, teaming with other design professionals to compile data and prepare design solutions
Support project team lead in preparing and managing budgets and schedules
Direct team members and others in the application of landscape architectural standards and guidelines
Manage contractor and client relations during construction for larger and more complex projects
Determine content of design presentations to client representatives and/or design review committees and present them
Participate in design meetings, work sessions and visioning, outreach and public forums
Consult with product manufacturers in order to evaluate and select construction materials
Assist in editing of technical specifications and reviewing shop drawings/submittals
Visit construction sites to gather information, review design intent, inform and support project team members during the construction phase
Participate in marketing efforts including proposal development, interview participation and presentations (this includes proposal writing and scope and fee negotiation)
Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching
Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in landscape architecture, including urban design, campus planning & design, streetscapes, and park and ecological related design
5 + years of relevant project management experience
Licensed Landscape Architect
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Autocad
Possess strong graphic skills to generate two-dimensional and three-dimensional design graphics
Strong analytical skills
Excellent writing and communication skills
Business development experience, including leading pursuits and positioning to compete successfully on tenders and design competitions
Project management skills including project administration, scheduling, and budget tracking
Able to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
