Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based in Cleveland, OH.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Senior technical resource serves as technical lead advisor for mechanical design team.

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.

  • Mentors less-experienced staff.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of design documents.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Professional Engineering License (PE)

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of related experience.

  • Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software.

  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practices.

  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident.

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.

  • Ability to analyze and provide solutions.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Proven success in leading pursuits and engaging long term clients.

  • ASHRAE membership or ASPE membership.

  • Laboratory, Federal, Healthcare and/or Higher Education design experience
