Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Leader to join our well established and growing Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Practice in a technical leadership role managing projects, providing technical direction to project teams, and serving as a technical subject matter expert. As a technical leader in our CCR Practice, the successful candidate will work within our diverse culture on rewarding projects throughout the United States with access to exceptional training and career development opportunities. The successful candidate will provide technical direction and lead client-facing teams to support the continued growth of our engineering and environmental services within the power and industrial markets, with a strong emphasis on CCR and solid waste management. They will provide project-level management and technical leadership to assist clients with strategies for designing new, operating existing, and closing CCR impoundments, landfills and other solid waste management facilities. The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable in both existing and proposed federal regulations for CCR impoundments and landfills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a project manager and/or technical task leader on key projects and accounts.
Develop new clients and support existing client relationships.
Attend client meetings and coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
Provide technical leadership in the areas of CCR ash basin closure, landfill design, solid waste management, groundwater and related regulatory, planning, design and construction phase projects.
Prepare qualifications, technical approach, and selling messages and communicate them in proposals and project interviews.
Serve as senior consultant for current and future projects, working with internal project teams and clients to set strategic direction for project execution.
Participate in national/regional industry organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM and AECOM’s clients.
Help recruit new talent to grow AECOM’s team.
Your Impact
Be a part of the corporate-backed strategic growth initiative supporting the CCR market, including design, permitting, construction, operation, closure, and site restoration.
Work with key members of our CCR team to advance this strategic business initiative, including support of existing client relationships and growth of our project portfolio.
Work with AECOM senior leaders to provide strategic insights tied to the CCR market.
Develop, present, and execute winning client strategies for new and follow-on contract bids
Provide input to the overall development of technical, management and business plans.
Support all phases of contract procurement – from pre-positioning to proposal development and post-submission activities.
Mentor and coach team members as required
Serve as a reviewer
Local and national travel (up to 20% of the time).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
BA/BA + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
U.S. Citizen/Resident
This role is subject to a Background and Drug & Alcohol screening for pre employment
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Environmental), Geology or Hydrogeology
Master’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.), Geology or Hydrogeology
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.)
Minimum ten years of related technical experience in engineering, geology or hydrogeology.
Ten years of project management experience
Five years of experience in CCR-related projects
15+ years of related project experience in Civil Design, CCR, Environmental Infrastructure or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to CCR management, solid waste management, remediation construction, water resources, dams and impoundments.
Ten+ years of experience working for an engineering consulting organization or power company.
Knowledgeable in the power market and clientele
Excellent verbal communication skills with the proven ability for effective professional communications to a scientific and non-scientific audience
Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Excellent verbal with strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills, ability to work both independently and within teams, and a positive attitude
Demonstrated business development experience
Demonstrated experience leading proposal efforts and account management
Availability to travel within the United States to visit team locations, client sites and regulatory agencies.
Demonstrated experience recruiting and developing capabilities to meet business and client needs
Additional Information
Please note that this role can be based anywhere in the United States and compensation data will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the stated range.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00.
