The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepare design calculations for various structural elements including foundations, retaining walls, structural steel, concrete, wood & cold formed members
Prepare finite element structural analysis models for buildings
Prepare contract drawings and specifications
Prepare three dimensional structural analysis models using structural software
Develop load supporting structural systems and specifications
Coordinate structural work with other disciplines
Review shop drawings and calculations, prepare responses to Requests for Information during construction
Prepare cost estimates for the structural work including quantity take offs and estimates
Prepare sketches and be able to draw using AutoCAD and Revit
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments and prepare reports
Work under the supervision of more senior staff
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
2+ years of overall experience in structural design or civil engineering with at least 1 year of experience in structural design
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
Basic experience with various structural software packages for analysis and design such as RAM Structural, RAM Elements, RAM Connection, TEDDS, Mathcad, Woodworks, ETABS, SAP, SAFE and Revit
EIT/FE or PE
