Job Description

AECOM is hiring a Senior Architect for our Clifton , New Jersey Buildings + Places practice that has experience working on NJ Transit projects . This individual will collaborate closely with all Studio Leads on a daily basis; will be managing our client project delivery - from initial design stages to the final project close-out, including kick-off meetings, scope reports, design documents, construction administration, and project close-out.

The Senior Architect will be responsible for the following items:

  • Strong detailing and documentation skills

  • Responsible for leading the delivery, documentation, and construction administration of NJ Transit projects

  • Providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project

  • May manage various size groups of architects, designers, and/or specialists

  • May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades

  • Working with the Senior Project Managers and Studio Leaders on project design, project schedule, work plan, and project budget for an assigned project

  • Ensure that projects are streamlined and done in a timely manner

  • Manage various trades for specific projects (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, etc.) in-house or separate non-AECOM sub-consultants

  • Leading QA/QC meetings and efforts

  • Responsible for providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project

  • May manage various size groups of architects, designers, and/or specialists

  • May work on modest and large-size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BA/BS in Architecture plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Licensed to practice architecture in New Jersey

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Five (5) years of design experience with NJ Transit projects and working with construction documents and construction administration

  • Eight (8) years of experience as an architect

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Software: Revit, Autocad, MS Word and MS Excel

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $135,000.00 - $155,000.00.
