AECOM Project Surveyor in Columbia, South Carolina
Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a highly talented Project Surveyor to join our Columbia, SC office. This position will afford the opportunity to support our exciting growth plans, to work within the commercial, residential, education, and water sectors. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Ability to read and understand survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts, construction plans and drawings and records
Ability to use appropriate survey equipment, conventional, GPS/GNSS and or laser scanning, to efficiently and accurately perform wide range of field survey procedures
Ability to take survey field notes, sketches and other written records on a daily basis
Ability to perform QA/QC to verify that the data complies with the project requirements
Understands and follows all applicable safety procedures
Plans, directs and coordinates work of survey parties and related staff including administering budgets, staffing, work assignments, and other employee-related matters
Responsible for client contact, contract negotiations, department policies, research, computation, field work, and drafting
Writes or directs the writing of descriptions of land to satisfy legal requirements according to standard surveying practices

Minimum Requirements
BA/BS and 4+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
General surveying background in route and as-built surveying, site design surveying and land surveying is required.
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications
Laser scanning experience
DOT experience
Familiarity with Leica survey equipment
South Carolina Surveying License is highly preferred
