Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a construction Assistant Project Manager with experience in the receipt and processing of submittals, RFIs, plans and specifications, in a fast-paced environment for our higher education program located in Miami-Dade County, FL.
This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Provides overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education as noted above
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Contracting, Management or related field; or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Contracting, Management or related field and four (4) years of related experience
Assists PM-OEM with all project related tasks, to include but not limited to
Work/communicate with consultants
Researches existing drawings
Assist with field investigations
Transmits project information and College standards to consultants
Tracks and communicates budgetary and schedule changes
Assists in coordinating project reviews
Sets up and maintains all project files
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
Ability to manage documentation and filing for multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn construction practices and procedures
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, organizational and
essential decision-making skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, AutoCAD preferred
Working knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) preferred
Ability to develop financial reporting and tracking skills and ability to work with greater independence
Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment with faculty, students, and staff
