Job Summary

Powertrain. Repair, modify, overhaul, reassemble, test and troubleshoot a variety of rotary wing aircraft or aircraft components independently and as a member of one or more overhaul teams. Reviews historical records, physical condition, and appearance of units inducted for overhaul and determine if item possible candidate is for RCM or minor repair program. Disassembles items designated for minor repair. Determines repair needed. Reworks or replaces parts required to restore item to serviceability. Work can include the disassembly and evaluation (E&E) of aircraft parts in shop.

Assembles aircraft components such as aircraft transmissions, gear boxes, other power train assemblies, and related components. Incorporates authorized modifications and completes adjustments and alignments to assure compliance with prescribed specifications and tolerances. Checks parts and items to be used to determine proper identity and assure serviceability. Certifies completion of requirements on work documents records and required measurements data and completes required entries on historical documents in preparation for final Quality Control inspection.

Required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses and may be required to wear respirators, aprons, goggles or other protective clothing and other personal protective equipment.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident.

  2. High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver’s license required.

  3. Three (3) years actual and recent related experience in the field consistent with the requirements set forth in the contract/delivery order.

  4. An A&P license shall be considered equivalent to three (3) years experience within the aircraft field.

  5. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
