AECOM Senior Combat Systems and Weapon Systems Engineer in Dahlgren, Virginia

The selected candidate will perform Systems Engineering tasking in support of, but not limited to, the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) project. The candidate will provide a broad range of systems engineering activities to include requirements development, requirements review, and combat systems testing. The chosen candidate will need to provide root cause support for testing problems as well as the generation of Test Observation Reports and Trouble Reports and resolution recommendations. The review of pre-test predictions and analysis of combat system test results is necessary. The candidate will perform studies and participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) as well as various Integrated Product teams (IPTs). The candidate will review technical artifacts including concept white papers, technical reports, requirements documents, specifications, change requests, design review packages and conduct analysis, assessments, and reporting necessary to provide complete packages sufficient to support the CEC development, upgrading, and fielding efforts. The selected candidate will provide test and evaluation analysis support, logistics, systems engineering, and analysis support.
A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 10 years of experience in testing and evaluation or independent verification and validation. 18 years of experience are required in lieu of a degree.
At least five (5) years of specialized experience of C2 Elements, Subsystems, Systems and Capabilities and experience in one or more track management activities such as CEC, AEGIS Weapon System, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Product Line Architecture (PLA), Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF), or Tactical Data Links required.
An active Secret clearance is required.
Position may require travel.
Experience with combat systems: AEGIS and SSDS (Navy) and/or CAC2S (USMC) including design, analysis, performance, track management, military applications, or operational experience.
Experience in the development of Naval combat systems, including definition, functional allocation, design development, testing, integration, and operational deployment.
Working knowledge in the development of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products as well as other architectural representations of Track Management and link functions.
Experience in the development of methodologies, models, or simulations for conducting engineering assessment to track management systems’ performance; performance data analysis, simulation/ development/ maintenance.
Experience in development and assessment of Capability Requirement Documents, Capability
Production Documents, System Engineering Plans, System Requirements Documents, System
Design Documents, Interface Design Documents and Specifications.
The work requires an ability to articulate complex technical issues in a clear, concise, understandable manner in verbal and written formats, work productively in team environments, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks in parallel.
