AECOM Media Relations, Global Communications Specialist in Dallas, Texas
AECOM is seeking a dynamic Communications Specialist to plan, develop and execute external communications campaigns that are told across AECOM’s owned channels and in the press – working with cross-functional and geographically-dispersed members of the enterprise communications team as well as internal clients. This position can be flexible for hybrid remote work options from a variety of locations in the US close to AECOM office locations.

Candidates should possess excellent media relations, storytelling and writing skills along with the acumen to advise others on communications strategies and initiatives, contribute to crisis management and response. With long term goals in mind, will develop plans, messaging and tactics with an understanding of business objectives through:
Creating and delivering engaging, high-quality and compelling communications that tell the AECOM story.
Supporting external content development, including articles/blogs, social media posts, press releases, emails, press materials and additional content as needed.
Overseeing incoming media inquiries, global media relations calendar, media relations processes and press release approvals.
Providing strategic support for crisis communications and issues management.
Researching, outlining, writing, editing and proofreading communications materials.
Leveraging communication programs, message platforms, assets and channels to support business priorities.
Developing, managing and publishing pages and content for the company’s website.
Supporting efforts to ensure messages reach target audiences.
Measuring and analyzing the impact of campaign activities.

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, journalism or related discipline plus at least 2 years of relevant communications experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
3+ years of professional, agency or corporate communications experience, managing media relations efforts, preferably in a global, multi-site company.
Strong written and oral communications skills, including copyediting and familiarity with AP style.
Ability to synthesize complex materials and to craft creative, persuasive language and compelling messaging for a variety of global audiences.
Experience building and maintaining strong internal relationships.
Ability to represent Enterprise Communications in a collegial, cooperative and collaborative manner.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively on a variety of projects concurrently in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
Proven ability to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work products.
Self-starter capable of assuming responsibility for several tasks at once with little supervision.
Project management and organizational skills.
Experience with podcasts, video editing, graphics, and/or social media content is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel as well as Wordpress
Experience with email and content management systems (e.g., Poppulo, SharePoint, Salesforce), as well as Adobe Suite (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) is a plus, but not required.
