Job Description

AECOM is seeking to fill a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate or Sr. Associate position within our Corporate Development / M&A team. As a member of the Corporate M&A team, this role will be working with operating businesses across the global organization and coordinating with multiple functional groups.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and virtual/telecommute, and will be based in Dallas, TX.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic M&A Planning: Evaluate the competitive landscape and assist in development of M&A plan to advance the strategic initiatives of the Company. This will also include pro ling and monitoring top targets.

  • Target Evaluation: Analyze operational and financial information of potential targets. Prepare multiple valuation analyses (comparables, DCF, IRR, merger, accretion/dilution, etc.) to support executive decision making.

  • Transaction Execution: Project management responsibilities to coordinate an entire transaction. This will include managing due diligence, internal functional team review ( finance & accounting, HR, IT, legal, tax), and approval processes.

  • Presentation: Prepare investment thesis presentations summarizing conclusions and recommendations to present to executive management and the Board.

  • Responsibilities may also include a role in post-merger integration.

  • Perform a variety of other ad hoc projects for senior management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

For Associate:

  • BA/BS plus at least 4 years of relevant mergers & acquisitions, investment banking (2-year analyst or associate program) and/or management consulting experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

For Sr. Associate:

  • BA/BS plus at least 6 years of relevant mergers & acquisitions, investment banking (2-year analyst or associate program, and/or management consulting experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

As well as:

  • Some minimal travel required.

  • Candidate must be highly analytical and have an in-depth knowledge of accounting, finance, and valuation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial modeling skills (including usage of CapIQ or Factset plug-ins) is a plus.

  • Exceptional Power Point and MS Excel skills.

  • Self-motivated, possessing a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) in order to interact with internal and external parties.

  • Buy-side acquisition experience is a plus.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00.
