Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Regional Market Sector Leader to be based in Dallas, Austin, or Houston, Texas to support and grow our regional water resources practice throughout the Gulf Coast. AECOM is the world’s premier infrastructure consulting firm, partnering with clients to solve the world’s most complex challenges and build legacies for generations to come. Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility will be to support and grow our regional water resources practice and provide leadership and guidance as it relates to our water resources services. In this role, the selected candidate will work with our US West Region Water team, collaborate with our National and Global Water teams, and be responsible for the overall vision and growth strategy for our Water Resources practice in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The selected candidate will also function as a mentor to staff, manage water resource clients, and help support water resource projects and programs that may include or require:

  • Comprehensive water resources planning, design, and construction

  • Understanding of regional and national regulations

  • Relationships with regional and national clients and professionals

  • Design of water resources facilities including dams, levees, flood control structures, and stormwater management facilities

  • Design of pump stations, pipelines, cutoff walls, and earthmoving projects

  • Dam removal and ecosystem restoration

  • Seismic evaluation and risk informed decision making

  • Design of Green Infrastructure (GI)

  • Design of Best Management Practices (BMPs)

  • Low-Impact Development (LID) planning and design

  • Watershed planning and

  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling.

In this role, the selected candidate will work closely with our planners, engineers, geologists, scientists, landscape architects, and construction managers to develop integrated water resource solutions and business development opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of related work experience required, with at least ten years of which shall include preparation of water resources reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates in a lead design role.

  • Experience with business development.

  • Experience with client relations and management.

  • Experience in conceptual design, preliminary design, final design, and construction of water resources infrastructure.

  • Ability to function as an active team player and leader in a diverse multidisciplinary environment
