Job Description

The Senior Strategic IT Procurement Specialist will leverage their skills in IT Contract Management and Procurement utilizing various resources to administer contract life cycle and supplier management. You will identify potential risks to align and bring professional value in support of the IT organization’s goals and objectives. The Senior Strategic IT Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of RFP’s and conducting negotiations on all contracts relating to the IT categories, with specific knowledge in SaaS, IT Services, and Maintenance agreements. A successful candidate will maintain a professional, productive, and proactive interaction with business stakeholders and suppliers, support the SRM/VMO program, and demonstrate flexibility with strong ability to collaborate with multiple towers and cross-functional teams.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules (including a combination of both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual) to be based in either Dallas or Houston, TX.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to support the organization’s software procurement and renewal process.

  • Engage early in sourcing opportunities to support development of business requirements

  • Review Statements of Work with internal customers to support business requirements clarity, remove ambiguity from areas for scope, position best pricing, and ensure commercial terms are represented in alignment with stakeholder direction

  • Ensure all SOWs follow legally approved formats, best practices, and review requirements.

  • Obtain necessary approvals following approved workflows for contracts.

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for the Software category or supplier leveraging your experience and industry best practices

  • Evaluate strategies based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during key sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations for all IT categories in scope.

  • Identify and analyze risk during the contract development stages; negotiate and implement risk mitigations strategies through effective collaboration.

  • Optimize global supply chain performance through cost analysis, and benchmarking.

  • Research and evaluate current suppliers and develop new suppliers based on need, quality, service, support, reliability, price, innovation, and value-added capabilities, as well as the supplier's reputation and history.

  • Track performance against established contractual terms and KPI metrics

  • Proactively manage product and services roadmap, alerting the business to procurement needs or opportunities

  • Effectively communicate market status to Procurement Director and Business Tower Leaders ensuring alignment of category strategies.

  • Day-to-day tasks may include sourcing, quotes, supplier management, conducting market research, negotiating terms and pricing, resolving supplier issues, initiating Purchase Requisitions based on approved SOWs, initiating e-signature of approved documents, creating Purchase Orders communicating status and generally supporting procurement activities for all areas within the IT organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus at least 6 years of relevant work experience in Indirect IT procurement, sourcing, and contract negotiations or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Proven buying experience with specific focus on all IT categories, including Software and Hardware (i.e., Desktops/Notebooks, Servers, Storage, Networking/Mobility)

  • Strong knowledge of contracts across all categories (Hardware, Software, Engineering Applications, Support & Services) including knowledge of software licensing agreements and SaaS agreements and True-Up renewal process with strategic suppliers (i.e., Microsoft, Adobe)

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, perform market research, and make informed procurement decisions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, evaluate risks, and develop innovative solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.

  • Flexible and demonstrated ability to work independently once goals are understood

  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all procurement activities.

  • Proven Supplier Relationship Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of relevant experience preferred

  • Coupa experience

  • Experience with ServiceNow

  • PowerBI knowledge

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Experience with similarly large, complex, global organizations

  • Vendor Managed Office program experience (VMO)

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00.
