Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer for employment in our Dallas, Fort Worth or Denton, TX office.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate the potential for success in Water Resources Engineering specific to flood hazard identification and analysis of stormwater management. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting and challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including flood hazard analysis relative to Flood Insurance Studies, stormwater management analysis, and other water resources engineering analyses.
This position is expected to begin in July 31, 2023.
Assist in the development, application, and QC review of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resources projects
Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. The assignments are designed to further develop judgement and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering or a related field
Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification or ability to obtain CFM within 6 months
Experience in hydrology and hydraulic modeling using programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
GIS experience and demonstrated knowledge of working through the GIS platform
Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, and standard office software
Attention to detail and quality
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and independently
