AECOM Aviation Program Manager in Denver, Colorado

Job Summary

AECOM Aviation is currently looking for an Aviation Program Manager to assist our Global Aviation Market Sector and our Regional Transportation team to grow our aviation practice in Colorado.

The Aviation Project Manager will report directly to the Colorado Aviation Practice Leader, to drive growth and development within this market segment across the Western US region. The role will appeal to someone who is highly motivated to develop and drive a successful business and who has strong connections and networks within commercial airport facilities. This role will offer an excellent opportunity for development and collaboration with clients, elected officials, industry associations, technical leaders, and project specialists in a dynamic work environment and a culture that is direct, supportive, and flexible.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Performing a wide array of aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports.

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of small and large multi-discipline projects involving design of airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation.

  • Responsible for supporting the growth, strategy, and sale of AECOM’s services to the Aviation sector, including key strategic customers and partners in the West US market

  • Works with the other business lines and market sector leaders in the region to ensure strategic business growth.

  • Builds strong relationships and interacts with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders linked to the Aviation industry, serving as an ambassador for AECOM.

  • Drawing on technical expertise supports the development of capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities.

  • Defines and mitigates risks and commercial terms during the pursuit and delivery process.

  • Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions, manages achievement of sales goals, gross margin, backlog, and other financial and business goals.

  • Serve as Project/Program Manager for key pursuits that are of strategic importance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering +12 years of related aviation engineering industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 5 years of project management leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional business development and client care skills and keen business acumen coupled with strong business development experience and solid technical skills in transportation projects developed within a professional services environment, with consulting engineering experience;

  • Strong leadership and group management experience and skills;

  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dedication to developing lasting client partnerships (internally and externally);

  • An energetic and enthusiastic coaching and mentoring personality and philosophy with an ability to recognize and develop talent;

  • A trusted advisor and highly regarded leader who can garner client confidence.

  • Proven strengths in developing, executing, and achieving strategic and operational plans in a team environment.

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations

  • Knowledgeable of current technology and its effective use on the project

Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

  • The salary range is $180K-$220K
